I was going to keep working on these paintings but realize that once it’s gone too bad, it’s better just to move on and come back on a rainy day. In both cases, the faces originally look better but as I kept trying to improve them, things went sideways. Tho, in the second case, I kind of like the end result.
I’m working on a larger painting and wanted to practice a few dresses and faces. Attempted to minimize blending.
While I like the composition, I would like to have included another color such as blue or purple.
I chose to try to copy this painting as he used highly contrasting colors, painted skin tones using red/greens and had a fluid way of applying layers and blending.
